BBC Studioworks to host new Channel 4 commission, The Big Narstie Show

BBC Studioworks will be providing full studio and technical services to Channel 4’s new late night entertainment production, The Big Narstie Show.

The production sees popular Grime MC, Big Narstie, take on hosting duties in front of a live audience with his own unique take on current affairs and modern culture. Stand-up comedian, Mo Gilligan, joins the self-titled ‘anarchic studio show’ as co-host with special appearances from celebrity guests each episode.

Produced by Expectation and Dice Productions, the six sixty-minute episodes will record weekly in BBC Studioworks’ 10,800 sq.ft. Studio TC1 at Television Centre.

Supported by Studio TC1’s state of the art production galleries, the show will make full use of BBC Studioworks’ impressive 600-seater audience rostra, EVS tapeless recording facilities and HDC-4300 cameras. The production will draw upon Studioworks’ electrical, engineering and scenic teams.

“The Big Narstie Show promises to be completely unique and we’re looking forward to working with Expectation and Dice Productions to deliver this new format,” said Meryl McLaren, Commercial Manager, BBC Studioworks. “This week alone in TC1 we’re not only facilitating The Big Narstie Show, we’re also pleased to welcome Mock The Week and The Last Leg. Our studio turnaround capabilities enable us to accommodate back-to-back productions, providing flexibility to the market.”

The first episode of The Big Narstie Show airs on Channel 4 at 11:05pm tonight, Friday 29 June.  Joining the line-up on the first episode is international music sensation, Ed Sheeran.
